Co-Founder and CEO
Ryan’s career has spanned executive management, product development, and venture capital. Prior to cofounding Cape Analytics, Ryan was an investor at Khosla Ventures, a leading Silicon Valley venture capital firm where he invested in and incubated several technology companies applying computer vision and artificial intelligence in industries ranging from shipping logistics, to agriculture, to healthcare. Ryan holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, as well as an engineering degree from Santa Clara University. Ryan has a very supportive wife and two young children, and in his rare spare time he enjoys spending time hiking with his family and riding/repairing old motorcycles.
Co-Founder and CTO
Suat is responsible for the scientific and technological aspects of the company. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Technische Universitaet Muenchen (TUM), Germany in 2009. Dr. Gedikli is a known expert in image processing, 3D processing, probabilistic state estimation and machine learning. Previously, he was a research engineer at Willow Garage, co-authoring PCL and pushing the boundaries of computer vision for robots.
VP of Sales
Busy is responsible for overseeing the customer lifecycle from evaluation through to implementation, successful deployment and continued growth as a Cape partner. Busy has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry spending time on both the carrier side with AIG as well as the technology side leading DocuSign’s Commercial Insurance & Financial Services team. Busy is a graduate of the University of Vermont and a very proud father and husband who loves spending time outdoors with his family doing just about anything from playing golf or tennis to swimming, fishing or skiing.
VP of Product
John leads Product Management at Cape with a focus on building increasingly valuable solutions for Cape’s customers in insurance, finance, and real estate. He has more than a decade of experience developing products powered by geospatial data and analytics, starting his career conducting applied research in remote sensing at the Carnegie Institution for Science. John subsequently led data product management at Skybox, a satellite imaging startup acquired by Google in 2014. At Google, John developed products, market strategy, and partnerships for a new enterprise data business that used satellites to track real economic activity in opaque markets across the globe. John holds both a BA in Human Biology and MS in Earth Systems from Stanford University. In his free time, John enjoys hiking with family and friends in the Sierra Nevada and swimming in the San Francisco Bay.
VP of Engineering
Sheetanshu is responsible for Product Delivery and Engineering Management at Cape Analytics. He has a strong track record of building innovative products with internet scale infrastructure. Previously he was VP, Engineering at Bidgely, an AI company in the Green tech space that built a petabyte scale AI platform and at Mobitv, where he built a multi-screen video delivery platform scaling to millions of users. He was also one of the early engineers (and eventually CTO) at Upwork, where he built the largest online marketplace for services. Sheetanshu is an avid guitar player and a founding member of the Cape Analytics rock band, Raise the Roof. Sheetanshu holds a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi and an M.S in Computer Engineering from University of Cincinnati. In his spare time, he enjoys music and traveling with his family.
VP of Finance and Operations
Alex Baroiant is Cape’s Vice President and Head of Finance and Operations. In this role, Alex oversees the accounting, corporate finance, treasury, investor relations, human resources, and business support functions at Cape.
Prior to joining Cape, Alex was Corporate Controller at Guardian Analytics, a fraud analytics AI startup serving the banking industry. His career began nearly 20 years ago in corporate finance with Silicon Graphics, and continued with responsibilities in finance operations, financial management, business leadership, and corporate strategy at VMware, Fortinet, and Synopsys, before moving on to startups.
Alex earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
